Makeda was the first young person to join the organisation when it launched in 2009 and has over 15 years’ experience working in the creative and cultural sector. Specialising in leading diverse teams, strategic planning, and growing businesses, she is now Managing Director at Small Green Shoots and works alongside Director of Operations Emma Randle to run the company. Her role involves building partnerships, overseeing the success and growth of the company, management of the team and acting as the face of the organisation. Makeda is the Founder of creative CIC MakedaMakes, a qualified life coach, evaluator, arts award assessor, fundraising consultant, mentor and a Women in music and Clore fellowship graduate. She sits on the board of creative academy BCE in Walthamstow, Leicester based Black Arts & Heritage organisation Opall22 and Music Education Islington.
