UK Music’s £500m Investment Boost

It looks like Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Coldplay and many other UK acts are set to benefit as the UK music industry is boosted by  £500m investment.

In 2014, The British music industry invested nearly £500m in new music with the signing of many new artists by major labels up 30%. Allowing the number of new acts signed by major labels to show a five-year high of 156, according to figures.

Geoff Taylor, chief executive of the BPI and Brit Awards stated “Alongside the artists themselves, the passion and commitment labels show in unearthing, nurturing and developing the next wave of talent is one of the main reasons our music is the envy of the world right now.”
