RED CARD – Single Review

Frisco, a founding member of Boy Better Know, released this hard-hitting grime track on the 1st September. ‘Red Card’ features Skepta, Jammer, JME and Shorty who each provide the song with well delivered bars which come directly after one another in the verses. The artists’ rap on the verses back to back giving the song a consistent and punchy feel. The catchy hook is performed by Frisco in which he mentions the song title ‘Red Card’ but he also raps on the second verse.

My favourite part of the song is the sample used which reminds me of samples used in Missy Elliot songs. The beat samples Daughters of Reykjavik’s ‘Fool’s Gold’ which adds a unique sound to the song and brings it to another level musically. It is a complete combination of unique samples, high energy, well written bars and more that has seen past 1million views and 56k likes in just over a month.
