Ray BLK ends 2020 with the R&B heavy revenge track ‘Lovesick’, the lead single from her long-awaited debut album slated for a release, this year. The track focuses on the volatile nature of relationships whilst delivering the confidence and swag of moving on.
R&B-infused vocals with a trap-influenced rap flow; Ray demonstrates her versatility as an artist who the UK has seen develop from 2015 and gives an insight into the direction of her upcoming project.
Speaking about ‘Lovesick’ in a press release, BLK said the track was about “taking control and reclaiming your power after being disrespected in a relationship and getting even.” – pressparty.com
BLK broke into the scene as a singer-songwriter with a gritty South-London sound and hard-hitting beats but this song has established a new beginning and evolution of her sound. Marrying the lyricism and straight-talking which honeyed vocals and R&B flow, Lovesick is a great track to re-establish and introduce a bigger audience to Ray BLK.
BLK has been celebrated as an artist with a message of girl power and self-love and brings that message to this single, also giving a platform to fellow emerging UK artist Ivorian Doll. Ivorian blends well with Ray BLK on the Madara Beatz Remix. Taking a bigger step into commercial publicity with her Daily Duppy uploaded to the GRM Daily YouTube Page within the same month, Ivorian shows versatility with her sound.

We look forward to her future releases from the upcoming album.
