2 Northdown played host to our International Women’s Day event on Friday and what an event it turned out to be. Entitled ‘Psycho B*tches’, the event was based on a project that we ran exploring the vast availability of derogatory language aimed towards women. Young Shoot Isaiah curated and hosted the night that was opened by the sensational Sans Soucis, who received an amazing response from the crowd who requested an encore when she finished.

The night ran smoothly with a group performance that followed San Soucis’ performance and a performance from 4 talented artists; Floetic Lara, Laurie Bolger, Sukina Pilgrim, and Deanna Rodger. All 4 of these artists were commissioned to write pieces on what it was like being a woman and their feelings towards the phrase ‘Psycho B*tches’. Each performance was inspiring, galvanizing and eye-opening, with each of them being very unique in their approach to the subject.

With huge thank you’s to our sponsors; PRS Foundation, Arts Council England and The Living Centre – it was an amazing night celebrating women and letting them express their thoughts and emotions on a subject matter that is not discussed often enough.
