The Mercury award is today and everyone is trying to put their best predictions forward. ‘Albums of the Year’ celebrates and promotes the best of UK music, recognising artistic achievement across a range of contemporary music genres.

This year’s nominees are as follows:

The Big Moon – ‘Love in the 4th Dimension’
The xx – ‘I See You’

The award ceremony will take place TODAY at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo and live broadcast on the BBC. The ceremony is set to feature live performances from some of the nominees.

Last year the prize was claimed by grime star Skepta.
This year the Small Green Shoots team have voted and we think it will be ED SHEERAN.
