Mabel – Bedroom EP Review

Last week saw Mabel release her 4 tracked EP named after single, ‘Bedroom’. Over the past year, 19 year old, Mabel has made a name for herself as one to watch from her breakout debut track, the pop-drenched “Know Me Better”

The album is tinged with that slow vibe 90’s r&b starting with the electronic single ‘Bedroom’ with her consistent r&b sound recounting a toxic relationship before it slips into ‘Finders Keepers’ which is about no – strings sex, her perspective calling back to 90’s icons Salt ‘n’ Pepa & TLC.

The frequent radio played ‘Finders Keepers’ features rapper Kojo Funds & the only feature on the EP & a definite stand out.  Kojo Funds has a very cool open to the track before Mabel fades in but leaves you wanting more from the limited feature on the track.

Next is ‘Ride Or Die’, exposing the artists’ amazing vocals & really nice vibe throughout. The EP closes to ‘Talk About Forever’ which was a great way to wrap up the EP as it reaches its crescendo, to what the culmination of tracks was building up to within the last 30 seconds as she hits the last notes.

The EP achieves what you would expect, quite effortlessly, leaving you wanting more & I am defiantly looking forward to more from the artist.
