Last week Wednesday (22/05/2019), Small Green Shoots invited a group of exciting creatives, artists and project managers to an interactive workshop, led by Kickstarter UK’s Arts and Culture Outreach Lead, Gemma Seltzer. The session, held at the uber-cool Tileyard, saw us find out about the story of Kickstarter (which is celebrating its 10th year), explore case studies of successes (and some failures), and look at Kickstarter campaigns as a way to bring creative projects to life through crowdfunding; from recording E.P.s to facilitating library-based workshops for young people. Following Gemma’s presentation, we split off into smaller groups, using resources to learn more about the Kickstarter platform. The session also allowed the artists and project managers alike to come together, network and learn more about each other’s work.

It was an engaging and informative morning enjoyed by all who attended. We look forward to hosting more workshops like this in the future and continuing our work with Kickstarter.
