Earlier this month, just like Beyoncé before him, Kendrick Lamar has graced us with an outstanding surprise album release. The album – Untitled Unmastered – seems to consist of music that didn’t make it into his last album To Pimp a Butterfly.
The album is 8 tracks long (barely long enough to be called an album) and showcases his interesting mix of Jazz and Hip Hop while still exploring political and social issues in the America .
My personal favourite song is untiled 7 – produced by Alicia Keys 5 year old son Egypt – and Untitled 5 with its political undertones, which discusses the civil rights movement in America.
The album is ultimately a look back at his life before his fame and fortune, but also exhibiting his resentment towards his wealth.
