About Me – Amber Grandidier
I’m 17 years old and have just started working at Small Green Shoots as the new ‘music assistant’ which I am really excited about. On the 4 days where I’m not working, I am usually at the studio working on new music which I will be thinking about releasing next year.
I am an alternative R&B artist who writes about my own experiences with mental health and relationships. I started having singing lessons for a year back in 2012 after my dad organised for me to sing at a restaurant alongside ‘London Gospel community choir’ but I started taking my music career seriously about 2 years ago after I joined a singing group called ‘Flames Collective’.
Through them, I have performed at the Royal Festival Hall as well as sing backing vocals for artists such as Jake bugg, Miraa May and more. I have been going to the studio since I was in year 10 but through ‘Flames collective’ I was introduced to a producer and since then I have started to build a portfolio of songs which will go towards me releasing an EP.
I grew up listening to a lot of 90s R&B and Hip hop like 50 Cent, Monica, NWA, Alicia Keys and much more. Now I listen to a much wider range of music from Daniel Caesar to Young thug to the Beatles and more. My favourite song is ‘Vibin out with’ by FKJ because it genuinely brings me peace.
