Gorillaz ‘Human’ Tour Review

The Gorillaz are back in London!

Following the release of their fifth studio album “Humanz”, virtual band Gorillaz stopped off at London’s O2 Arena as part of their 40-date global tour to play a phenomenal show featuring supporting act “Little Simz” as well as a slew of talented performers.

Little Simz blew the crowd away as she jumped into her performance of her latest album release, ‘Stillness In Wonderland’ with a contagious energy and passion behind her words and enigmatic flow.

I loved the band were able to give her this huge platform for her to do her thing & show people the amazing amount of skill the underrated artist has.

The immersion of the amazing visuals created on stage through huge LED screens within the huge gathering of backing vocals & live instruments heightened this virtual reality of the virtual band as their music videos played behind the artists with the characters mouthing the real life lyrics.

The enigmatic “Damon Albarn” was joined on the stage with the plethora of guest artists from the Humanz album such as “Zebra Katz” during Sex Murder Party and Little Simz continued her hot streak their recent single, Garage Palace. Guest musicians, “Vince Staples”, “Mos Def”, “Peven Everett”, “Pusha T” and “Jehnny Beth” performed their respective songs with the exception of the performance of “Stylo” with Peven Everett performing Bobby Womacks section and “Noel Gallagher” making a surprise performance on We Got The Power. Gorillaz guest veterans “De La Soul”, “Shaun Ryder” & “Roses Gabor” made an appearance to increasing crowd frenzy.

The show was creative, compelling & impressive, showcasing how the Gorillaz have been so iconic and successful after so many years.
