Goldlink Performance – Review

Irish group, ‘Hare Squead’ opened the Goldlink show at Heaven yesterday and made a brilliant start with track ‘Long Way To Go’, then teased with forthcoming release, ‘Flowers in the Morning’.

The trio have an infectious energy that got the audience hyped and engaged,  with a similar vibe to the Headline they made a really the perfect support  act.

 

After a late start, Goldlink reached the stage backed by bold graphic animations. He delivered a brilliant performance, effortlessly sweeping to each song. He charismatically interacted with the crowd as they sang along, even as Goldlink switched up the set with his DJ playing throwback tracks like Ushers – U Don’t Have To Call & Nirvana’s – Smells like Teen Spirit.

 

 

Special guest, “Masego” came on the stage to rapturous applause singing his feature song, ‘Late Night’ introducing his trumpet to the song which made it really special.

 

 

Goldlink really demonstrated what an amazing live act he his. He ended the show with Crew Love, inviting his own crew to the stage to join him. A well-deserved encore followed to what was one of the best live shows of the year so far.
