East London rapper, ANTI.NET frontman, and pioneer of the Cyberdrill sub-genre, Vice?! (also known as Viceroy Lindsay) has been a consistent presence in London’s underground music scene. With a focus on mutating and evolving contemporary Grime and Drill with releases like ‘Nightwalkers’ and ‘Phobia’, Vice?!’s gritty soundscape, husky vocals and bouncy flow always have the potential to leave heads bopping and faces crumpled!
‘CYBERPUNK,’ released on the 6th November, enters in as another progressive take on the Drill cadence, told from the perspective of someone exposed to road life in a neo-futuristic London. Citing Ratking’s ‘So It Goes’ album as inspiration, the single also shares some of the better narrative elements in the late MF DOOM’s ‘Vaudeville Villain’ project.
Vice?! continues to glide against the grain of Drill and Grime, delivering familiar, but refreshing, sounds and content.
‘CYBERPUNK’ is out now and available on all streaming platforms.
