Artist network is Small Green Shoots quarterly event aimed at providing information, resources and networking opportunities for unsigned artists. The venue was completely unique, the Digital Catapult Centre is a creative tech space that firmly put itself on the map as innovative rooftop space in the new Kings Cross Redevelopment. The theme for this “Artist Network” was “digital marketing – getting heard on social media”.
Small Green Shoots selected a resourceful panel featuring “Mercedes F Benson” (social media influencer), “Hannan Malik” (TenForty), “Abbie Hollebone” (Universal Music) and a live performance from emerging artist “Fred Fredas”. The event was hosted by Reprezent Radio’s “Jay McGregor”. The panel was informative and relied on personal stories and case studies which really brought the subject matter alive and had audience members tapping notes into their phones.
A big networking session followed and an open bar with stacks of Dominos pizzas fuelled the networking session, while DJ Joshua Jones kept everyone’s heads nodding as the conversation flowed. Small Green Shoots staff flitted around making introductions and seamlessly ensuring everyone was sharing ideas and details. It was so successful no one felt it was time to leave and once outside an impromptu freestyle session started outside of the venue; artists and musicians bouncing off each other’s flow as a fitting finish to the evening.
Artist network ticked all the “music networking” event boxes, don’t miss the next one in September. All behind the scenes can be found on our YouTube channel.
