Women Rule Mercury
This years Mercury Prize shortlist was recently announced and though the live awards show is not likely to happen in September there’s still full reason to get excited for the results.
12 albums have been nominated for the prestigious award, which aims to highlight the most exciting and innovative music of the past year. We’re interested to see if any of your artists of the year are featured or if there’s any artists you’ve yet to listening to:

2020 Novello Recognition
The Ivor Novello Awards have been a representation of those recognised by their fellow UK music community recognising British and Irish songwriters and composers since first presented in 1956.
The nominations recognise works released last year and offer a range or a achievements for music works from scores, albums, and musicality that demonstrate exceptional potential, ambition and offers a platform of achievement for a range of artists across the UK.
Recipients of Songwriter of the Year 2019 and the Academy Fellowship will be announced along with winners across all nominated categories on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio from 11am on the Matt Wilkinson Show on Wednesday 2 September 2020.
